This is Mark Fiorito's second novel. He has also authored The Run, several screenplays, and a collection of poetry. Mark was raised in New Jersey and now divides his time between San Diego and Louisville with his wife, Joan.

Initially I thought this was going to be a guy book about a fishing trip, but I am so glad I was willing to go beyond the first chapter!!! It is actually a wonderful love story with many twists that keeps one turning the pages. It has no heavy sexual content but includes a great deal of interesting man-woman interaction as well as man to man friendship.. For those of us who have had more than one marriage and/or love affairs much of the book brings back memories of how we learn and grow from experiences. Fiorito develops his characters beautifully and in the end I was so glad to see the main character, Casey, finally turn bold and go after what he wants with confidence, inspired by the golden marlin. Our local book club is planning to discuss this book next month. I am now looking forward to reading the first novel by 'Fiorito - The Run.Product details

Mark Fiorito's "Kiss of the Marlin" is a magical tale of self discovery. Casey Doran and his friend Lenny are on a deep sea fishing tip in Baja when Casey has a close encounter with a magical marlin. Their interaction saves them both.
When Casey and Lenny return to San Diego things begin to change for Casey who up until the trip had been very rigid in his standards and stuck in a very big life rut. Magical things begin to occur that open him up to new experiences and new people. By opening himself up and seeing where the enchantment will take him he changes his life.
This was a great story with something for everyone. Fiorito's writing is very witty and the characters are well developed. The story flowed and it was a quick read because of the pacing. It's definitely worth your time and money.

"Kiss of the Marlin"is a very enjoyable novel with unusual and surprising events. Quite a change from Mr. Fiorito's first book - "The Run" - both page-turners but in very different ways. I highly recommend both books.
I really enjoyed this book during a cross-country plane trip. The characters were well developed and I'm hoping we hear more from them in a sequel.
This book is the perfect combination of adventure and romance. It is a fun story to read, and I felt instantly connected to the characters. I love the vivid visual imagery and exciting plot line. I recommend it for readers & dreamers of all ages!

The author did a terrific job telling a magical romance. The description of deep sea fishing, horse race and police officer's life's are very enchanting and sureal.
This book was a great read. Mark is able to describe the scenes so well, it was like I was watching a movie while I was reading. The ending was thoroughly satisfying, the story neatly wrapped up. I don't want to give away too much of the plot, so I will leave it at that. This is the first book I have read in a long time that kept me awake long past my bed time because I could not put it down and I had to see how it ended. My husband got mad at me because I kept saying I would turn out the lights soon, and an hour and a half later they were still on because I just had to finish it that night. A good story that hooks me like that, is a rare and much appreciated treat.
I read Mark Fiorito's first book, "The Run", and was captivated from the first page.
I enjoyed every minute reading his new novel, "Kiss Of The Marlin", as well.
It is a wonderful and magical read, a love story with some twists and turns.
The characters come vividly to life on the page. Mark has a gift for letting the reader inside the heart and soul of the characters quickly, so you are engaged in their story immediately.
I loved the San Diego and Cabo settings. Mark brings the physical environment to life with incredible imagery.
I was rooting for Casey and Julie through the entire book. Anyone who has ever been in love, and who could have lost that love because of stubborn pride, will identify with this story.
